This week’s Bouquet of the Week is a ‘Spring Bunch‘ and this lovely bunch of mixed flowers will contain a beautiful selection of the seasonal flowers that we have available on the day of sending.
Spring is in full swing at The Great British Florist and we are very busy sowing, planting and picking flowers each day. We grow our flowers in polytunnels and in fields and we are excited to see all the new varieties coming in to bloom.
One of our largest summer crops is our Scented Pinks which are grown in polytunnels right next to the flower barn where we prepare our orders and you simply cannot get fresher than that! These wonderful flowers are in season from May – October and we grow a range of colours including pale pink, white, lilac, purple and red. Although they are called ‘Pinks’ their name actually comes from the ‘pinked’ edges of their petals. ‘Pinks’ have a lovely clove-like fragrance and a good vase life.
The ‘Spring Bunch’ is also likely to include Sweet William which are a new early summer crop from our Daffodil supplier who farms out on the Lizard Peninsula, some Cornish Alstroemeria from Lanoyce Nurseries near Saltash, Nigella and Cornish ‘Jacks’.
The components of this Spring Bunch will change day to day depending on the availability of flowers but we are sure it will have beautiful colour and scent!
It will arrive wrapped in brown paper and tissue paper with your choice of message on a card, tied into our beautiful branded box for safe travel.
