About our Fresh Flowers

Whilst traditionally when you ask a florist to send fresh flowers to a loved one or friend the usual questions are about which kind of flowers you want - or what colour would be best here at The Great British Florist things are very different.

Our focus is on gorgeous flowers that’s for sure, but we think type and colour are less important than whether they are sustainable, fresh, and seasonal… That’s why ALL our bunches of blooms are made up of UK grown flowers and foliage, many grown here on our flower farm in Cornwall. 

We know by using local blooms that they will look lovely and help reduce the percentage of flowers flown half way around the World… (Over 90% of the fresh flowers sold in the UK at the moment are grown overseas).

You have our promise – all of our fresh flower posies and seasonal boxes of cut flowers will contain all British grown flowers and foliages. 

This way it’s not just the recipient that will benefit – it’s the Birds, Bees, Bugs and Butterflies that will enjoy them as they grow. We use a network of British Flower Farmers that deliver direct to our farm and we have a cutting patch to supplement our supplies when needed throughout the seasons.

It’s true you won’t know exactly what colour or type of bloom we will send when you order BUT you will know it will be guaranteed delightful and gorgeous. We are proud to be a part of the revival of British Flower Farms and we hope you will enjoy doing your bit as well.
